A short update:
The Teddies 2012 from Hugglets in London was fantastic! I have had a wonderful day. I met many new, amazing and nice people and I am looking forward to come back in February next year!!!

After Teddies 2012 I enjoyed a week holiday on Kos (Greece).
Sea, sun, great food, love and every day ice cream!
Back home I dived into the autumn weather. Cold, wet and rainy... but somehow I love it!

I am hoping to take part at the TED Worldwide Awards 2013. Somewhere this month I will hear if my two entries are nominated or not.... ecxiting! So fingers crossed!

I also like to take part at the Golden George Awards 2013. I just found out today I have to hurry up. Official closing time is November the 15th
but the early-bird-discount is until October 15th.
And I like discounts... so hurry up till October the 15th!!!

Many hugs,
Mel

'Becky'

Hi my dear readers,

I would like to show you my latest creation, called 'Becky'.
I have been making some bears lately so I thought: "Why not make another bear?"

Like always I have a complete vision in my head of what my creation is going to look like. Sometimes it looks like my vision and sometimes I end op with something completely different. 'Becky' looks like the bear cub I had in mind. :)
Although I had a darker brown in mind...
Like all my creations she is one of a kind and comepletely hand sewn. She is about 6 inches/ 16 cm tall, filled with plastic pellets and synthetic wool.

Looking forward to Teddies Festival in London! I am so nervous but exited as well!
I can't wait!

Hugs, Mel

'Momma'

I have just finished a new creation. It is called 'Momma' . Two bears but one name. :)
The mother bear is 14 cm/ 5.5 inches heigh and about 21 cm/ 8 inches tall as she is laying there.
The little cub is about 10 cm/ 4 inches tall. Like always are they OOAK
and hand sewn from the nose to the paws, filled with synthetic wool and plastic pellets.
The face and paws are needle felted.

I am looking forward to 9th of September when I will be going to the Teddies 2012 Hugglets in London!!!
Any of you going too?

In that week the finals for the URSA Awards will end too. On the 7th of September.
So I you would like to vote, make sure you'll do it before then. :)
Share the link with all your friends because it would be amazing if loads of people would vote for the URSA Awards!

Well here are some pics of  'Momma' !

Nova

A short note to show you my latest creation called Nova.
Nova is 8.7 inches/ 22 cm tail. She is OOAK and completely handsewn. She is made of a high quality mohair. She is filled with plastic pellets and synthetic wool and her arms are wired.
The stars are made of polymer clay and glow in the dark.
(Personally I love the glow in the dark picture. :) )
I am already drawing a new pattern for my next creation.
Always thinking about new ideas. Lack of sleep, headache and a little stressy do not affect my spirit of creativity.
I could say my creativity and thinking about new ideas are the cause for my lack of sleep, hehe.

This Saturday I will find out if my creations are still in the URSA Award competition. Fingers crossed!

Enough for now, enjoy the pics!
Hugs, Mel

After a difficult delivery 'Zuri' is finally born!

I have finally booked my trip to the UK today!!!
I'll be exhibiting at the TEDDIES 2012 on the 9th of September and I am looking forward to it!
Like to know more about it? See this link: http://www.hugglets.co.uk/festivalindex.php

Voting for the first rounds of the URSA Awards has ended on the 29th of July. Fingers crossed I will appear in the final rounds. I hope so. It depents on how many votes I got for Biscuit, Patrick & Rudi and Howie.
If  I will appear in the final rounds, will you vote for me again? :)

And last but not least:

Well... today I finally finished my latest creations. I must say she was a pain in the ***!
Her legs were horrible, did not want to cooperate at all!! And then I forgot about the hair in the neck... Being a perfectionist, I could not leave that out... but: she is finally born!
I love her eye lashes, they are so soft :)

Zuri is a OOAK giraffe baby made of a soft giraffeprint-fabric. She is 14 inches / 36 cm tall. She is wired and filled with synthetic wool and plastic pallets. She was not easy to work on because her legs did not want to cooperate. It took me at least two more days to finish her.

Hope you like her!

Hugs, Melanie

Meet Jobo my new 4" - 10 cm tall mini bear!

First of all bad news:  The TBAAF Awards might be cancelled for this year. :( The voting form providers site from TBAAF who we use to host the awards has been badly hacked and taken down, and have just discovered all the TBAAF Awards voting pages and information has been completely lost... Nooooo! I hope they can fix it!

Good new: I have just made my first mini bear. :)
This mini bear is a little less than 4 inches - 10 cm tall. He is filled with plastic pellets and polyester filling. He has a needle felted face and paws and his nails, teeth, tongue and honey pot are made of polymer clay. He is actually my first try of mini bear with that kind of details in needle felting. I did not realize it would be that much work... It's even more work. :) But since I am a great fan of details and time-taking, undoable projects it was just my thing! :D

I hope you like him.

Oh, please don't forget to vote for the URSA Awards!

Hugs,  Mel
